I Believe..

1. I believe that young girls/teenagers are easily influenced by the way society portrays women.
2. I believe that technology is advancing faster than we can keep up.
3. I believe that we should take more time in preserving nature and preventing the extinction of animals instead of cutting down trees to make more space for ourselves or killing animals for pleasure, goods, or food.
4. I believe children shouldn’t be so exposed to technology or to the internet, as it can be a dangerous place for most of them.
5. I believe that people are becoming lazier and dirtier; eventually we’ll be living up to our necks in garbage.

Appearance is everything in today’s society. In a world where there is little censorship, it is easy for children to become easily influenced with what they see in an advertisement, online or on television. Oftentimes women are portrayed as unnaturally skinny or with curves that are larger than normal. Younger girls and teenagers often look to these women and feel the need to compare themselves. Those images tend to cause a loss of confidence or self-esteem in many. Girls will often turn to things like drugs, alcohol, eating disorders and even go to the extent of exposing their bodies just to feel as if they belong. The worst part is that these girls forget about their morals, they lose everything and forget to love themselves for who they are. They are so easily influenced by society that half the time they are trying to live their lives to impress others or to make a better impression. But what looks good on the outside, isn’t always good on the inside.
